Andante

Location : Gzira

Status : Completed June 2011

Opting for a particular pendant light; Allegretto, a central focal point for the dining area, is immediately suggesting that the table becomes a continuous harmony of lines and angles. The outcome is simple, 2 different steel rod profiles, one acting as top support, and the other as both the top and bottom, repeated for eight times each, visually creating a synchronization of lines. Rods are used, bent, and welded together to form each profile. Alternating rhythm is created as changing from profile 1 to 2. Each profile meets at the centre, supported and welded with a ring. The space between the long rod profile is ergonomically designed in order to have enough space, yet the smaller one will be supporting in between. A10mm crystal clear glass surface was selected so that the link is visible- invisible having floating food, cutlery and plates between these sound tensions.
