Designed April 2020

Two worlds meet here: in the middle of fields, where a
collection of rocks (Borg Gebel) stack up to form a humble and
convoluted outpost in the landscape. The quasi random
building is now the venue for change and transformation.

The drive for contemporary habitability coupled with the aim to integrate with the rural land and endemic species (Borage) are
allowed to co-exist, and this happens in the architectural design concept presented here. Significant parts of the old build
are retained and carefully integrated into the design scheme. In the more secluded private sleeping areas of the
home, light passes to crafted crevices to reach the cocooned spaces as though it is light filtering through the mound of
rocks. At the surface, whether through water or the integrated landscaping, the endemic rock garden is allowed to create
continuity on the level of the landscape and an escape for the dweller, connecting to the sky and world.
